EU Detergent Rules Roll Out: Export Compliance Upgrades for Daily Chemical Surfactants.

The new EU Detergent Regulation (EU)2026/405 has officially taken effect and will be fully enforced in September 2029. It raises stricter standards for surfactant biodegradability, safety assessment, labeling and digital traceability, affecting all AES, SLES, LABSA and AEO raw materials exported to Europe.

All detergent raw materials entering the EU market must provide complete biodegradability test data, safety documents and traceable records. The upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP) system will further standardize the whole industrial chain supervision.
